After a restful night and soaking in the city’s ambiance, we’ll head to Mtskheta, the spiritual heart of Georgia. From there, the journey takes us to Kazbegi, where the majestic peaks of the Caucasus reach for the skies. One of the highlights is the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched at 2,200 meters above sea level. According to legend, St. George, the patron saint of Georgia, once appeared to the local people, guiding them to establish this sacred site. It is said that St. George continues to protect this revered church and its visitors.
After marveling at this historical and mystical place, we’ll immerse ourselves in nature’s splendor. The Gweleti Waterfall with its crystal-clear waters will refresh your spirit, while Gypturi offers a sense of grandeur. The day concludes at the Dariali Monastery, a 6th–7th-century complex nestled in the Dariali Valley. Dedicated to St. George, this monastery served as both a spiritual haven and a defensive stronghold along the Caucasian trade route.
The next day, we journey to Svaneti, a land of breathtaking beauty. Along the way, we’ll explore the Okatse Canyon, a mesmerizing natural wonder with dramatic depths and a history that dates back to ancient human settlements. After a day of exploration, unwind at a picturesque hotel in Svaneti to prepare for the next day’s adventures.
The following day, you’ll discover Tetnuldi Lake and Khatsalvi, surrounded by towering mountains and pristine snowy peaks. These serene landscapes pair perfectly with Svaneti’s culinary traditions. At a culinary masterclass, you’ll learn to prepare traditional Svan dishes, whose flavors have been preserved and passed down through generations. As the day closes, enjoy a horseback ride, marveling at the sunset’s warm hues painting the mountainous silhouettes.
We’ll also visit the ancient village of Ushguli, one of Europe’s highest settlements, where the rich culture and heritage of Svaneti are on full display.
